ARLINGTON, VA – Cooperatives Working Together (CWT) member cooperatives accepted four offers of export assistance from CWT that helped them capture sales contracts for 229,000 pounds (104 MT) of cream cheese. The product is going to customers in Asia and will be delivered from April through June 2023.
CWT-assisted member cooperative year-to-date export sales total 13.0 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 550,000 pounds of butter (82% milkfat), 2,000 pounds of anhydrous milkfat, 17.9 million pounds of whole milk powder and 2.7 million pounds of cream cheese. The products are going to 18 countries in five regions. These sales are the equivalent of 284.3 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis.
Assisting CWT members through the Export Assistance program positively affects all U.S. dairy farmers and cooperatives by fostering the competitiveness of US dairy products in the global marketplace and helping member cooperatives gain and maintain world market share for U.S dairy products. The product is going to customers in Asia and Oceania, and will be delivered from March through August 2023.
CWT-assisted member cooperative year-to-date export sales total 10.2 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 50,000 pounds of butter (82% milkfat), 17.8 million pounds of whole milk powder and 1.2 million pounds of cream cheese. The products are going to 15 countries in five regions. These sales are the equivalent of 234.8 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis. Over the last 12 months, CWT assisted sales are the equivalent of 1.084 billion pounds of milk on a milkfat basis.

The product is going to customers in Asia, Central America, the Caribbean, Middle East-North Africa, and South America, and will be delivered from February through August 2023.

The product is going to customers in Asia, Central America, Middle East-North Africa, and Oceania, and will be delivered from December through May 2023.
CWT-assisted member cooperative year-to-date export sales total 92.1 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 657,000 pounds of butter (82% milkfat), 30.7 million pounds of whole milk powder and 8.8 million pounds of cream cheese. The products are going to 21 countries in six regions. These sales are the equivalent of 1.157 billion pounds of milk on a milkfat basis.

June CWT-Assisted Dairy Export Sales Totaled 6.5 Million Pounds
CWT member cooperatives secured 51 contracts in June, adding 5.6 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 254,000 pounds of butter and 600,000 pounds of cream cheese to CWT-assisted sales in 2022. In milk equivalent, this is equal to 62 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis. These products will go customers in Asia, Central America and Middle East-North Africa, and will be shipped from June 2022 through January 2023.
CWT-assisted 2022 dairy product sales contracts year-to-date total 53.4 million pounds of American-type cheese, 348,000 pounds of butter, 5.6 million pounds of cream cheese and 28.5 million pounds of whole milk powder. This brings the total milk equivalent for the year to 754 million pounds on a milkfat basis.
Exporting dairy products is critical to the viability of dairy farmers and their cooperatives across the country. Whether or not a cooperative is actively engaged in exporting cheese, butter, anhydrous milkfat, cream cheese, or whole milk powder, moving products into world markets is essential. CWT provides a means to move domestic dairy products to overseas markets by helping to overcome U.S. dairy’s trade disadvantages.
