CWT Assists with 355,000 Pounds of Dairy Product Export Sales

ARLINGTON, VA – Cooperatives Working Together (CWT) member cooperatives accepted two offers of export assistance from CWT that helped them capture sales contracts for 355,000 pounds (161 MT) of American-type cheese. The product is going to customers in Middle East-North Africa and Oceania, and will be delivered from October through December 2023.

CWT-assisted member cooperative year-to-date export sales total 36.8 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 908,000 pounds of butter (82% milkfat), 26,000 pounds of anhydrous milkfat, 36.8 million pounds of whole milk powder and 7.2 million pounds of cream cheese. The products are going to 25 countries in five regions. These sales are the equivalent of 699.7 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis.

Assisting CWT members through the Export Assistance program positively affects all U.S. dairy farmers and cooperatives by fostering the competitiveness of U.S. dairy products in the global marketplace and helping member cooperatives gain and maintain world market share for U.S. dairy products. As a result, the program has helped significantly expand the total demand for U.S. dairy products and the demand for U.S. farm milk that produces those products.

Cooperatives Working Together (CWT) member cooperatives accepted 11 offers of export assistance from CWT that helped them capture sales contracts for 93,000 pounds (42 MT) of American-type cheese and 454,000 pounds (206 MT) of cream cheese. The product is going to customers in Oceania and Asia and will be delivered from August through October 2023.

CWT-assisted member cooperative year-to-date export sales total 27.6 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 809,000 pounds of butter (82% milkfat), 24,000 pounds of anhydrous milkfat, 31.4 million pounds of whole milk powder and 5.9 million pounds of cream cheese. The products are going to 24 countries in five regions. These sales are the equivalent of 548.9 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis.

ARLINGTON, VA – Cooperatives Working Together (CWT) member cooperatives accepted four offers of export assistance from CWT that helped them capture sales contracts for 229,000 pounds (104 MT) of cream cheese. The product is going to customers in Asia and will be delivered from April through June 2023.

CWT-assisted member cooperative year-to-date export sales total 13.0 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 550,000 pounds of butter (82% milkfat), 2,000 pounds of anhydrous milkfat, 17.9 million pounds of whole milk powder and 2.7 million pounds of cream cheese. The products are going to 18 countries in five regions. These sales are the equivalent of 284.3 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis.

March CWT-Assisted Dairy Export Sales Totaled 2.5 Million Pounds

CWT member cooperatives secured 31 contracts in March, adding 1.8 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 168,000 pounds of butter, and 522,000 pounds of cream cheese to CWT-assisted sales in 2023. In milk equivalent, this is equal to 24.1 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis. These products will go to customers in Asia, Central America, the Caribbean and Middle East-North Africa, and will be shipped from March through September 2023.

CWT-assisted 2023 dairy product sales contracts year-to-date total 12.6 million pounds of American-type cheese, 550,000 pounds of butter, 2.5 million pounds of cream cheese and 17.8 million pounds of whole milk powder. This brings the total milk equivalent for the year to 278.3 million pounds on a milkfat basis.

Exporting dairy products is critical to the viability of dairy farmers and their cooperatives across the country. Whether or not a cooperative is actively engaged in exporting cheese, butter, anhydrous milkfat, cream cheese, or whole milk powder, moving products into world markets is essential. ARLINGTON, VA – Cooperatives Working Together (CWT) member cooperatives accepted eight offers of export assistance from CWT that helped them capture sales contracts for 2.8 million pounds (1,250 MT) of American-type cheese, 2.2 million pounds (1,000 MT) of whole milk powder and 35,000 pounds (16 MT) of cream cheese. The product is going to customers in Asia, Central America, Middle East-North Africa and South America, and will be delivered from February through July 2023.

CWT-assisted member cooperative year-to-date export sales total 6.9 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 12.8 million pounds of whole milk powder and 346,000 pounds of cream cheese. The products are going to 12 countries in five regions. These sales are the equivalent of 159.9 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis. Over the last 12 months, CWT assisted sales are the equivalent of 1.209 billion pounds of milk on a milkfat basis.

The product is going to customers in Central America and Oceania and will be delivered from January through May 2023.

CWT-assisted member cooperative year-to-date export sales total 93.3 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 657,000 pounds of butter (82% milkfat), 30.7 million pounds of whole milk powder and 8.8 million pounds of cream cheese. The products are going to 21 countries in six regions. These sales are the equivalent of 1.168 billion pounds of milk on a milkfat basis.

November CWT-Assisted Dairy Export Sales Totaled 18.6 Million Pounds

CWT member cooperatives secured 52 contracts in November, adding 6.2 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 348,000 pounds of whole milk powder and 1.2 million pounds of cream cheese to CWT-assisted sales in 2022. In milk equivalent, this is equal to 69 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis. These products will go to customers in Asia, Central America, the Caribbean, Middle East-North Africa, Oceania and South America, and will be shipped from November through May 2023.

CWT-assisted 2022 dairy product sales contracts year-to-date total 92.1 million pounds of American-type cheese, 657,000 pounds of butter, 8.8 million pounds of cream cheese and 30.7 million pounds of whole milk powder. This brings the total milk equivalent for the year to 1.157 billion pounds on a milkfat basis.

CWT member cooperatives secured 40 contracts in April, adding 6.3 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 9,000 pounds of butter, 827,000 pounds of whole milk powder and 331,000 pounds of cream cheese to CWT-assisted sales in 2022. In milk equivalent, this is equal to 67 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis. These products will go customers in Asia, Central America, Middle East-North Africa, Oceania and Europe, and will be shipped from April through October 2022.

In milk equivalent, this is equal to 74 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis. These products will go customers in Asia, Central America, Middle East-North Africa, Oceania and South America, and will be shipped from March through September 2022.

Despite not taking bids for two weeks during November breaks, CWT member cooperatives secured 94 contracts in November adding 11.5 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 2.6 million pounds of butter, 1.1 million pounds of whole milk powder and 183,000 pounds of cream cheese to CWT-assisted sales in 2021. These products will go customers in Asia, Middle East-North Africa, Europe, South America and Oceania, and will be shipped from November 2021 through May 2022.

CWT-assisted 2021 dairy product sales contracts year-to-date total 49.9 million pounds of American-type cheese, 15.9 million pounds of butter, 6.1 million pounds of anhydrous milkfat, 11.5 million pounds of cream cheese and 45.1 million pounds of whole milk powder. This brings the total milk equivalent for the year to 1.404 billion pounds on a milkfat basis.
