November CWT-Assisted Dairy Export Sales Totaled 5.4 Million Pounds

CWT member cooperatives secured 43 contracts in November, adding 4.6 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 231,000 pounds of butter, and 525,000 pounds of cream cheese to CWT-assisted sales in 2023. In milk equivalent, this is equal to 52.1 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis. These products will go to customers in Asia and Middle East-North Africa, and will be shipped from November 2023 through February 2024.

CWT-assisted 2023 dairy product sales contracts year-to-date total 46.1 million pounds of American-type cheese, 1.1 million pounds of butter, 26,000 pounds of anhydrous milkfat, 8.3 million pounds of cream cheese and 39 million pounds of whole milk powder. This brings the total milk equivalent for the year to 801.6 million pounds on a milkfat basis.

CWT member cooperatives secured 63 contracts in October, adding 5.4 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 844,000 pounds of cream cheese and 388,000 pounds of whole milk powder to CWT-assisted sales in 2023. In milk equivalent, this is equal to almost 59 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis. These products will go to customers in Asia, Central America, the Caribbean, Middle East-North Africa, South America and Oceania, and will be shipped from October 2023 through April 2024.

Cooperatives Working Together (CWT) member cooperatives secured 30 contracts in September, adding 2.4 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 99,000 pounds of butter, 719,000 pounds of cream cheese and 7.1 million pounds of whole milk powder to CWT-assisted sales in 2023. In milk equivalent, this is equal to 82.2 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis. These products will go to customers in Asia, Central America, the Caribbean, South America and Middle East-North Africa, and will be shipped from September 2023 through March 2024.

CWT-assisted 2023 dairy product sales contracts year-to-date total 36.3 million pounds of American-type cheese, 908,000 pounds of butter, 26,000 pounds of anhydrous milkfat, 6.9 million pounds of cream cheese and 38.6 million pounds of whole milk powder. This brings the total milk equivalent for the year to 692.6 million pounds on a milkfat basis.

These products will go to customers in Asia, Oceania, Central America, the Caribbean and Middle East-North Africa, and will be shipped from July through December 2023.

CWT Assists with Nearly 547,000 Pounds of Dairy Product Export Sales

Cooperatives Working Together (CWT) member cooperatives accepted 11 offers of export assistance from CWT that helped them capture sales contracts for 93,000 pounds (42 MT) of American-type cheese and 454,000 pounds (206 MT) of cream cheese. The product is going to customers in Oceania and Asia and will be delivered from August through October 2023.

CWT-assisted member cooperative year-to-date export sales total 27.6 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 809,000 pounds of butter (82% milkfat), 24,000 pounds of anhydrous milkfat, 31.4 million pounds of whole milk powder and 5.9 million pounds of cream cheese. The products are going to 24 countries in five regions. These sales are the equivalent of 548.9 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis.

Assisting CWT members through the Export Assistance program positively affects all U.S. dairy farmers and cooperatives by fostering the competitiveness of U.S. dairy products in the global marketplace and helping member cooperatives gain and maintain world market share for U.S. dairy products. As a result, the program has helped significantly expand the total demand for U.S. dairy products and the demand for U.S. farm milk that produces those products.

CWT Assists with 428,000 Pounds of Dairy Product Export Sales

Cooperatives Working Together (CWT) member cooperatives accepted seven offers of export assistance from CWT that helped them capture sales contracts for 254,000 pounds (115 MT) of American-type cheese, 44,000 pounds (20 MT) of butter and 130,000 pounds (59 MT) of whole milk powder. The product is going to customers in Asia and Middle East-North Africa, and will be delivered from July through December 2023.

CWT-assisted member cooperative year-to-date export sales total 27.5 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 809,000 pounds of butter (82% milkfat), 24,000 pounds of anhydrous milkfat, 31.4 million pounds of whole milk powder and 5.4 million pounds of cream cheese. The products are going to 24 countries in five regions. These sales are the equivalent of 544.5 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis.

CWT member cooperatives secured 51 contracts in March, adding 4.7 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 220,000 pounds of butter, 6.6 million pounds of whole milk powder, 22,000 pounds of anhydrous milkfat and 1.1 million pounds of cream cheese to CWT-assisted sales in 2023. In milk equivalent, this is equal to 105.7 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis. These products will go to customers in Asia, Oceania, South America, Central America, the Caribbean and Middle East-North Africa, and will be shipped from June through December 2023.

CWT Supports 138.2 Million Pounds of Dairy Exports in 2022

Year-end tallies indicate that Cooperatives Working Together (CWT)-assisted sales rose in 2022, as the program did its part in supporting a record year for U.S. dairy exports.

Member cooperatives in 2022 secured 695 contracts, adding 98.0 million pounds of American-type cheeses, 657,000 pounds of butter, 30.7 million pounds of whole milk powder and 8.8 million pounds of cream cheese to CWT-assisted sales. In milk equivalent, this is equal to 1.212 billion pounds of milk on a milkfat basis. On a product volume basis, this is equal to 138.2 million pounds – up 6% (+7.9 million pounds) from 2021. Product destinations include Asia, Central America, the Caribbean, Europe, Middle East-North Africa, Oceania, and South America.

In milk equivalent, this is equal to 65.2 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis.
