Trey Forsyth

Vice President, Government & Regulatory Affairs


Trey Forsyth serves as Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs for NMPF, where he manages legislative and regulatory strategy to advance the organization’s policy priorities. In this role, he works closely with Congress and federal agencies on issues impacting the dairy industry, including food safety and sustainability.

Prior to joining NMPF, Forsyth served at the U.S. Department of Agriculture as Chief of Staff for Food Safety, including a period as Acting Deputy Undersecretary. Previously, he was professional staff on the Senate Agriculture Committee under Chairman John Boozman, where he managed livestock, poultry, dairy, animal health, food safety and tax policy issues. Forsyth has also held roles at Land O’Lakes as Senior Manager of Federal and Industry Relations and as a policy advisor at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. He is a native of northeast Iowa, where he grew up on a hog and row-crop operation. He holds a dual degree in Agricultural Business and Public Service & Administration in Agriculture from Iowa State University.
