
Claudia Larson
Senior Director, Government Relations & Head of Nutrition Policy
Dr. Claudia Larson serves as Senior Director of Government Relations and Head of Nutrition Policy for NMPF, working on a wide range of issues, including leading government relations efforts on agricultural labor reform and workforce issues, nutrition policy and programs, and rural broadband development. Larson played an active role in crafting and advancing the bipartisan Farm Workforce Modernization Act, building support for NMPF’s child nutrition priorities, and successfully working with Congress to secure key improvements to the Small Business Administration’s COVID-19 relief programs to better assist dairy farmers and their cooperatives.
Prior to joining NMPF, Larson served as Communication Director and Strategic Policy Associate for the office of Representative Jim Costa (D-CA). Before working on the Hill, Larson was a researcher and educator at Northeastern University – including agriculture-related projects – and other Boston-area institutions. Larson holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Political Science from Boston College and a Ph.D., also in Political Science, from Northeastern University.
