The position involves developing and implementing comprehensive lobbying strategies to advance NMPF’s goals, with a focus on labor and nutrition policies and potential involvement in other areas as needed. Responsibilities include monitoring policy developments, providing analysis to the Executive Vice President, formulating policy recommendations and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, policymakers, cooperative representatives, industry associations, and advocacy groups. This role also entails representing NMPF in relevant coalitions, engaging in direct advocacy with decision-makers, collaborating with internal teams for a coordinated approach, identifying emerging issues, developing strategies to address them and participating in advocacy events to promote NMPF’s policy positions on Capitol Hill.
