ABI Annual Meeting Has Record Attendance

The ABI/ADPI Joint Annual Conference held in Chicago last month had record-breaking attendance of more than 960 industry professionals, making it the largest American Butter Institute annual gathering ever.
Co-hosted by the ABI and the American Dairy Products Institute, this year’s event addressed the manufactured dairy product industry’s latest challenges, obstacles and opportunities with presentations from a wide range of speakers, including industry executives, government officials, and academia.
Top industry leadership gathered to share their vision of trade and the changing global structure. Topics discussed included market access, price volatility and risk management as well as how implications of trade agreements will challenge the industry. In addition, panelists provided updates on the new dietary guidelines and its implications on the food industry.
ABI welcomed two new members to the organization: Agri-Dairy Products and Butterfields Butter. The organization also welcomed five new board representatives: Kelly Andrus, Butterball Farms; William Chomicki, MD & VA Milk Producers Cooperative; James Douglas, Butterfields Butter; Frank Reeves, Jr, Agri-Dairy Products Inc.; and Ed Pcolar, Agri-Mark. ABI also presented Special Recognition Plaques to two long-serving members and Past-Presidents of ABI- Rich Stammer, Agri-Mark, Inc. and Jim Walsh of Associated Milk Producers Inc.
